Sozopol is one of the oldest towns on the Black Sea coast. It has been settled since antiquity and it never fails to amaze to this day. The old town is perched on a scenic peninsular. There are many great seafood restaurants along its rocky coast and the views of the Black Sea are amazing. Most buildings in the old town date back to the 18th and 19th century and are made of stone and wood, architecture typical of the Black Sea region of Bulgaria. Many of the houses offer accommodation to the many tourists that visit Sozopol in summer. The town has great shops, galleries, museums and restaurants and a romantic atmosphere that makes it one of the best places along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
