Last weekend I escaped from the heat in the mountain resort of Bansko in the Pirin mountain. It is popular with skiers in winter. The town has a long and interesting history and there are some old buildings preserved, some of which house cozy taverns or function as hotels. There are several house museums and a beautiful stone church with a tall clock tower.
