High up on a slope of the Rhodope mountain, sits the pretty village of Leshten. Up there the air is clean and the views are breath-taking. The village overlooks the valley of Gotse Delchev and Pirin mountain. Like many remote villages in the Rhodopes, Leshten was surpassed by modern development and is now a popular spot for rural tourism. Most of the houses in the village have been renovated, keeping their authentic look and can be booked for your next holiday. The only pub in the village serves delicious meals and homemade Bulgarian brandy. There are no shops and no sign of any commercial activity whatsoever. Leshten is one of the few places left where you can take a break from your busy schedule and enjoy the pleasures of the simple life. Magic can happen when you are in the Rhodope mountain.
What fabulous photographs! How I miss living in Bulgaria.
