My trip to Veliko Tarnovo two weeks ago was a lot of fun. My intention was to be there for the autumn leaves, but I arrived one week too late. I didn’t get as many autumn pictures as I wanted. Still, it was a great weekend spent mostly outdoors in one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria. I hope you enjoy the photos!

  1. Well, you were certainly not one day too late for simply beautiful photos. I love Veliko Turnovo, but have never been there in the fall. Your post makes me long to go once again.

    • Thank you 🙂 It was my first time there in the fall too. I have been in the spring – then the fortress is covered in blossoming judas trees – they look a bit like lilac. I think it would be interesting to see in winter too if there is snow.
