Cobh is a small town in Ireland built on a steep hill. It is so small, it is hard to imagine Titanic made its last stop in its harbour. I travelled there during a trip to Ireland this spring. Unfortunately, the weather was not so warm and sunny, so I didn’t take too many pictures. Even in early spring I still enjoyed Cobh very much. Who needs all the hoards of tourists, am I right?
We stayed at Bella Vista  hotel, which is 5 min walk from Cobh‘s giant cathedral and overlooks the Cork harbour. The vista really was splendid (until an Atlantic storm with heavy rain hit). We also got to stay in the best room in the hotel, which turned out to be the bedroom of Napoleon’s doctor, while he was exiled on St. Helena. It was furnished with the original furniture, fireplace and two huge paintings. We did not pick the room but the friendly staff gave it to us for no extra charge! So once again my need for vintage luxury was satisfied.
