Finally back here from the holidays with some instagrams from my new year experience in Plovdiv. Me and my boyfriend decided to go away for New Year’s eve and chose Plovdiv because we wanted not just to party, but also to explore and relax. Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and it has everything you need to have a good time – a spectacular bar scene, plenty of restaurants, and for those interested in culture and history – ancient Roman remains and a 19th century old town.
The highlight for me was Kapana – a quarter with cobbled streets in the centre which has the coolest bars, street art and colorful flags hanging over the streets. It reminded me of Dublin and it does have bars that could easily compete with those in Ireland’s capital. It surely has memorable atmosphere and at this time of year it was dotted with Christmas trees – almost in front of every shop and bar. I will be posting more photos from my New Year in Plovdiv, taken with an actual camera, so I will share more of my impressions later on.
I am now on Instagram too, so don’t forget to check out and follow One Day in Sofia’s Instagram page.
