This is a view of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s medieval capital. I spent a long weekend there in the beginning of May. Travelling to beautiful historic towns in May is turning into a tradition for me, after visiting Plovdiv same time last year. It is amazing to rediscover these places – it is like reading a book when you are young and then when you are older – you see different things. And it is common for people to overlook places in their own country, somehow we are always more drawn to the unknown. Needless to say, the town is incredibly beautiful, combining medieval and revival architecture, a spectacular location and scenery. It is in one of the greenest regions of Bulgaria, surrounded by broad-leaved forest. I took many photos, but I will try to select the best and share them with you very soon!
